David Wright

Born Coventry, England 1947.Moved to Toronto, Canada in 1972 after postgraduate studies in painting under Terry Frost at Reading University. Since 1993 has been dividing his time between studios in Canada and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.In 1985 paintings changed from the large scale modernist, megavisual collage of images that characterized his early work, to the oil paintings for which he is now best known: landscapes, cityscapes, still life, interiors, and ponds - inspired by places he knows and by the light that illuminates them.
