David Austin

David Austin is a Franco-British photographer and filmmaker based in Avignon, Provence. Self-taught since childhood, he spent 18 years directing Creative Pictures before dedicating himself fully to fine art photography and filmmaking as an independent artist.
His photographic work explores the female form in motion — through water, through air, through light. Working without AI and without body retouching, David creates large-format artworks printed on canvas, each signed, numbered on the canvas, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. His editions are strictly limited, ranging from 1/5 to 1/10.
David works with his models under image rights contracts that include a participatory revenue share: each model receives a percentage of every sale, reflecting a commitment to ethical and collaborative practice that is rare in contemporary photography.
Beyond photography, his practice extends to culinary art photography — where he applies the same cinematic eye to his own creations as a passionate amateur chef — and to documentary filmmaking, crafting 4K cinema-quality films for wine estates across the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
