COMMENTS ABOUT MY PHOTOGRAPHIC ART
“Hyman is able to photograph things that have become visual cliches and make them fresh and see-able again. His work has a beautiful spaciousness, and evanescence, as well showing an appreciation for the geometry of places.”
Kate Dobbs Ariail, The Independent Weekly, Durham NC, November 27, 1991
“David Hyman brings us the charm of Europe in exquisitely composed platinum prints.”
Michele Nata...
David N. Hyman is a self-taught photographer. He has taken workshops with many well-known photographers such as George Tice and David Michael Kennedy.
Hyman has lived and travelled extensively in Italy and photographed landscapes, cityscapes and the people of this fascinating country. His most recent work uses an extreme wide-angle (fisheye) lens to photograph familiar monuments and sites in Italy adding a degree of abstraction to many famous places in Italy so they can be seen in a new and unique way.
In his photographs he tries to capture a feeling of the mystery time and place while at the same exploring the geometry and forms that attract the eye.
