David Lascaris

David Lascaris, is an architect who has acquired theoretical and practical designing skills in the field of art and architecture during academic studies, then delved more deeply through various work experiences with important professionals in the Art field and through personal experiences in various countries of the world such as China.
David Lascaris pursues his own research through the use of different media and focuses on the themes of impermanence and on the investigation of reality in its explicit and immanent manifestations in relation to what is implicit, indefinite and eternal.
In 2016 his project “Io Giuro” was finalist in the competition for an installation for the Palace of Justice in Florence.
In March 2018 he will have a solo exhibition at Fondamenta Gallery in Rome, published by Inside Art.

My interest in Arts and Design started during my studies, when I approached with great enthusiasm the theory and practice of artistic and architectural composition, thus acquiring specific knowledge on materials and developing great skills in modeling space and creating complex shapes. I also had the occasion to study very deeply the History of Art and Architecture and to realize an exhibition in a public space in Genoa (Italy) with a site-specific paper sculpture in 2011.
After that, I had my first international experience between Art, Design and Architecture during my eight-month stay in Beijing in 2012 when I was part of the team in charge of organizing and installing an exhibition during the Beijing Design Week, focused on the contrast between light and darkness and between eastern and western cultures as long as tradition and innovation.
Moreover, in 2015 I started working with an Italian artist based in Milan, as project manager and director of her office. During my permanence there, I was responsible for all the phases in the construction of an artwork from the concept to the final product, through the project design, the experiments with different materials and the direction of the craftsmen.
