David Lom is a New York City–based, award‑winning visual journalist and Director of Photography whose photographs grow out of more than two decades living and working across Asia and filming stories around the world. His images are based in documentary practice but presented as fine art travel photography, focusing on humanity, city streets, and the way light reshape a place.
Working in photography, David favors natural light, graphic compositions, and a restrained color palette so that mood and story stay at the center of each piece. Every print is designed to live on a wall, each with a story and detail that rewards close, repeated looking.
His work draws on years documenting news and current affairs, conflict, crises, and natural disasters for major international broadcasters such as NBC News, 60 Minutes, ABC News, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and more, moving between megacities, remote coastlines, and back alleys most travelers pass by. Collectors who want story‑driven photography with a cinematic edge will find prints here that are stories from a road less traveled.
In 2025, Broome Street Art Gallery in Soho, New York City hosted a solo exhibition of David Lom’s work, bringing together decades of his documentary and travel photography from Asia, Africa, South America, and beyond into an intimate, gallery-scale presentation.
