EDUCATION

Debbie began painting at age 17 and was apprenticed to Tom Bostelle for two years before completing the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts 4 yr program. She traveled throughout the USA to most Art Museums on her railroad pass from her father’s railroad job. She completed the Barnes Foundation 2 year course and after formal schooling she lived in Manhattan’s Chelsea district. She attended multitudes of educational symposiums and Art Classes at the Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, National Academy & the National Arts Club and Art Students League. Debbie became an Outlier and moved to Florida where she took another degree ASN, RN, for a steady income to balance art selling.

STYLE

Debbie works in oil painting but also has a practice in printmaking etching and silkscreen. She has done environmental site specific projects as well. Her style has been an exploration of the many disciplines in painting including expressionism, abstraction, color field and a realism.
