About Deb Breton

Though I've had formal training in art and design, it's abstract art and expressionism that I'm drawn to. It feels like coming home. Here, I can be free of strict interpretations, while allowing the passion of working with color to fuel me. The excitement of pushing the boundaries between representational, and expressionism never get old. Combining streams of consciousness, with line, shape, and form, I'm always exploring ways to express abstract thoughts that have no words. In my portrait paintings I use layers of colors, sgraffito and marks in trying to capture the essence of that person's spirit. My work comes from a place of energy and an intensity for life. And it's this energy in my paintings, that I share with you.

Currently, I'm based in California, USA, and I draw inspiration from the beauty that surrounds our area. I'm an avid fruit and vegetable gardener, birder, hiker and meditation enthusiast who is living her best life right here and right now!
