Deborah Hally

Working primarily in paint, and photo media, my practice is narrative based and figurative. I am interested in the unreliable and subjective nature of memory, the ways past and present become entwined and the part imagination has to play in recalling actual events. Our memory can imbue objects, images and events with layers of meaning beyond themselves, creating a personal mythology unique to each of us. At the core my work is about stories, the stories we tell ourselves in order to make sense of life and our inner worlds.
