Tesa de Buru lives and works in Berlin. It is the artistic name of Cecilia Fuentes Ibarburu. Born in 1972 Montevideo, Uruguay and grew up in Chile. Inspired by her artistic family began as a child to write poems, stories, to compose music and paintings. During her design studies started to photography, filmed short movies. Since then she has been a non stop multidisciplinary artist developing projects in film, photography, painting, dance and curating exhibitions, mostly for other latin american artists. In 2015 she created the South Embassy Gallery dedicated to latin american contemporary artists. She actually lives in Berlin.
Photographer, designer, film maker, music composer, song writer, singer and writer. She studied Industrial Design in Valparaiso, Chile and Munich, Germany. In 2000 she moved to Austria and later to Germany and followed her Industrial Design studies at the Fachhochschule Munich while she founded a design and IT and Design company and later the South Embassy company which includes projects with latin american artists, designers and film makers. Parallel studied lyric singing in Vienna and Munich.
