Deepali Shah

I am an abstract artist, a wife, a mother, and a new empty nester. I am a self-taught artist who loves art in every form. My art style is nuanced from a range of inspirations such as nature, emotions, and everyday life.
I use multiple layers of oil paint on canvas with a palette knife to create texture and movement. Sometimes, I also use a scraping technique to expose the underlayer to give depth and texture to the painting. I begin my paintings with a concept in my mind and then let my painting guide me. My paintings are abstract compositions in which texture and colors play an expressive role. I am not trying to paint nature but rather the experience of it.
Painting brings me peace and joy and my goal is to convey the same peace and joy to my viewers.
