Deirdre Shibano

Well known for her beautiful Landscapes paintings in plein-air, Deirdre Shibano is also an award-winning artist, specializing in portraiture and figurative work. Her work is in private collections across the United States, and abroad.

Shibano is passionate about the process of painting, whether outdoors, in plein-air, with just the sounds and scents of nature, or working with clients on developing a commissioned portrait, or figurative piece... it is always the “Magic” of paint that inspires her! Shibano notes, “the great thing about painting...is that you never get bored...Always learning and continuing to grow in methods, techniques and making a statement is what is most important...I find the human condition, and our environment equally exhilarating and inspiring...the expression on the face of a model, a stranger, or a client provides the same challenge and excitement as painting the raw and rugged shores of California.."

Originally trained at the Art Students League in NYC, where she received the Merit Scholarship Award for Excellence, and The Ford Foundation Grant, among additional noteworthy recognitions.
