Denis Maguire

Belfast, 24/08/56, Work in IT and regretably turned down a career as a professional footballer; Honours degree in maths; played most sports, enjoy theatre, try to play guitar and hope a song of mine goes to the USA this summer (why not!).As a tenager was on Belfast radio acting and played football for Distillery FC.Acted with Helen Mirren and Colin Firth as an extra.

At grammar school I was made by the head to do Science because I was supposed to be clever; won two prizes in UK art competitions at around 12.
Two years ago I saw paintings in the Lake District which I was going to buy but my wife said You can do as good. So I started painting. Everybody I know or have heard of specialize in a niche, say scenery, animals etc. Ill paint anything!
To paint I have to have a real reason for doing it. Its an emotional thing and has to inspire me e.g like the crashing wave (me!) or the tears of the Iris (love).

9 Olevels, 4 A levels with 3 grade As, Honours degree in maths; Msc in computer Science; Have not yet displayed my art work in exhibitions.,
