Denis Mallet

I am a French miniaturist artist born in Normandy in 1969. My miniature room boxes focus on interior themes and are inspired largely by continental European aesthetics, particularly French workshops and residential interiors of the 1950's and 60's. I have been refining and perfecting my work in this medium for the last twenty years
My interior miniatures are painstakingly crafted using wood, textiles, paper, metal, various paints, clay, recycled packaging of all sorts, repurposed found objects and of course plenty of glue!

My inspirations vary depending on the packaging or materials, but I always gather unique ideas for creating new objects and enjoy the process of bringing them to life in various forms.

Every single object and piece of furniture found inside my room boxes is personally made entirely by hand with each finished box requiring 40 to 60 hours of work to create a room to scale in 9" x 7.5" x 4.5" dimensions.
