RECOGNITION
Paulien De Saeger is a Belgian artist, working primarily in pastels. At the centre of her work is the animal itself. Through highly detailed drawings, she explores the beauty, individuality, and vulnerability of animals, encouraging viewers to reconnect with the natural world through observation. Memory plays a central role in how her work is experienced. Her artworks are meant to act as triggers for specific memories, such as the warmth of shared years with your beloved pet or a rare encounter with an animal in the wild.
Growing up around animals, she understands the special role they play in our lives. This love reflects in the amount of care she puts into each artwork. Additionally, she supports wildlife and animal conservation projects around the world through her work.
