Nalini Cook

My art is a celebration of vivid color, tactile texture, and the boundless possibilities of mixed media. Drawing inspiration from my journeys across continents and my home in Andalusia, Spain, I weave together acrylics, oils, inks, found objects, and natural ochres from Southern France to create multi-layered works that pulse with energy and depth.
Each piece is an exploration of cultural beauty and mystique—a visual dialogue between East and West, tradition and innovation. I am fascinated by the stories, symbols, and emotions that emerge when materials collide and interact. My process is intuitive and experimental, often beginning with a spark from a place, a person, or a fleeting moment of wonder. Through layering, scraping, and building up surfaces, I invite viewers to look closer and discover hidden narratives within the abstract and surreal forms.
Ultimately, my goal is to create paintings that resonate with authenticity and vitality—works that invite contemplation, evoke curiosity, and reflect the glowing presence of life’s diversity.
