Daniel Francis-Xavier

Daniel's work and compositions are mostly based within a stream of conciousness using non-traditional techniques, such as plaster, spackle, and a mixture of oil or acrylic paint. His process is threefold, establishing a rich and heavy texture or a mold of colors, layering and excavating the surface and then creating dimention. Industrial structures and the perimeter of all things inspire him, city scape and urban environments drive his choice of space, texture and color. Most of his works are very "heavy", never feeling like the normal weight of a painted canvas but of a complex and sophisticated project, intensely constructed and densely populated onto his canvas.
