EDUCATION

I began my professional art career at the age of 16, and have been an artist ever since working as an illustrator, art director, creative director in Hollywood feature films, TV programs, Broadway theatre, regional and national TV commercials, in promotion and production.

My fine art western American landscape paintings have been represented by the very best fine art galleries in America in Aspen, Vail, Beaver Creek, Santa Fe, Denver, Cherry Creek, Colorado Springs, etc., over the last several decades.

I'm finally able to take the time to market my paintings internationally and I'm in the process of building a large new studio here in the beautiful mountains of my home-state of Colorado, USA that will allow me to focus on my fine art full-time as well as my professional photography of all the scenery I shoot for paintings that will soon be sold as well.

My work has sold to every corner of the globe over the years, and I look forward to now taking my oil paintings of western America to greater venues ... hope you enjoy my paintings and begin to collect my work as the major gallery owners have!

Blessings

I'm a self-taught artist. I taught myself how to draw by sitting in front of the fireplace on our beautiful Colorado cattle ranch drawing Norman Rockwell paintings from a huge coffee table book of Rockwell paintings until they were exact as a child.

That book gave me the best education I could have ever received for free. By the young age of 16, I could draw damn near anything and did endlessly.

I later taught myself to paint in watercolor and sold many paintings but, I was never really happy painting until I used oils on canvas.

I found myself a tiny cheap studio in Manitou Springs, Colorado and literally painted non-stop for three years. The studio was so small that I had to open the front door, and stand in the parking space to look at my larger paintings.

Other tenants would laugh at me standing there in the middle of the parking lot rain, snow or shine, usually still in my pajamas in the afternoon with a cold cup of coffee in one hand, and about 20 paint brushes in the other!

That's all I did for three full years! But, man did it pay-off ...

When I finally felt my work was not going to get me thrown out on the street by the first gallery I presented to, by pouring over all the paintings in Art of The West...
