Diederik Muyle

Diederik has a particular style that is influenced by minimalistic art and works from the first decades of the 20th century. This can be seen in his early works that put the emphasis on emotional figurative subjects. Throughout the years the focus changed to more modernistic and abstract art. For not losing himself in one discipline he is combining and using different techniques and materials in his works.

Diederik Muyle (°1956) has always been passionated about art and antiques. At the age of 21, he followed a 3 years course in antique dealing. Following on this he broadened his knowledge with 9 years of courses including restoration of paintings, furniture and paper. When he was in the beginning of his fifties, he started at the “Academie van Oostende” for a course on drawing and painting. He stayed here for 7 years and was awarded with the price from the jury in 2014. After his years in Ostend, he completed a one year course in Bruges on model sketching before returning back to Ostend to taste from a new discipline, namely sculpturing.
