Leah Larisa Bunshaft (Dizlarka) was born in Ukraine and spent her youth in Russia. Later she moved to Israel and after that to Spain. Now she lives and works in Barcelona.
She holds an MA from the Arts and Construction Department at Novgorod State University. Her studies include advanced courses in art history, psychology of creativity, graphic design, and photography.
Her life experiences, including childhood traumas, a difficult adolescence in 1990s Russia, frequent relocations, and years under rocket fire in Israel, deeply influenced her artistic themes. Leah focuses on the fragility of human existence in an unstable world, exploring vulnerability, femininity, women’s lives, and self-identity in the context of constant change. She is also drawn to the theme of time, its passage, and the cycle of life and death, reflecting on how humans transform through it.
Dizlarka is a multidisciplinary artist working in mixed media. Depending on the idea behind each work, she chooses among painting, drawing, collage, digital art, embroidery, handprints, and other techniques. Her works have been acquired by customers from various countries, including the USA, Canada, Israel, Japan, Germany, and Denmark.
