Do Tuan Thanh is a self-taught contemporary painter based in Hai Phong, Vietnam. Over the past decade, he has been an active figure in the regional art scene, participating in numerous exhibitions across Vietnam and abroad. His work has appeared repeatedly in major art events such as the Red River Delta Art Exhibition and various annual exhibitions in Hai Phong, as well as international exchange shows with South Korea.
Thanh works primarily with oil and acrylic, creating textured, expressive compositions that explore emotion, memory, and the quiet atmosphere of daily life. His paintings often balance structure with spontaneity, allowing color and surface to become carriers of internal landscapes. His works have been acquired by collectors in Germany, France, the United States, and other parts of the world.
Artist Statement
My work is driven by the relationship between emotion, memory, and color. I am drawn to surfaces that hold traces—layers that reveal something beneath. Through oil and acrylic, I explore the rhythm of movement and stillness, forming spaces where viewers can slow down and connect with their own experiences.
