Daniel Pincham-Phipps

Daniel Pincham-Phipps is a prominent British fine art painter and former professional comic book illustrator. He is widely recognized for his distinct style transition from traditional cartooning into a form of fine art that he describes as "Figurative Abstraction," a process deeply influenced by his cartooning days and contemporary art.

Early Career & Comic Illustration
Before transitioning to fine art, Pincham-Phipps built a successful 14-year career from 1978 to 1992 as a commercial illustrator and cartoonist. He worked regularly for legendary British publications, drawing comic strips and acting as a ghost artist for iconic characters like Dennis the Menace. Daniel created his own characters for the Topper, featuring Sudsy Malone who flew around in a bath fighting grime with his duck sidekick from outer space.
