Jelena Toskovic

Traditional drawing is my principal medium, and each piece represents a rigorous creative process. I draw inspiration from diverse sources: history, mythology, religion, literature, as well as people, emotions, and different cultures. My work predominantly focuses on the human figure, with each drawing shaped by an underlying narrative conveyed through form, expression, and decorative elements.

Every new piece presents both a technical and creative challenge, with an emphasis on precision, expressiveness, and refinement. Rather than conveying a single, explicit message, I aim to leave space for personal interpretation, allowing viewers to discover their own narratives within the work.

I work exclusively in traditional media, using graphite, ink, watercolor pencils, and pastels.
