Her work as a conceptual artist challenges familiar ways of seeing, exploring the hidden connections between the self, the world around us and the ideas that shape our perception. Drawn to seemingly separate elements, she is guided by imagination, curiosity and a playful spirit of exploration, allowing unexpected connections and possibilities to emerge through carefully curated concepts.
Born in Australia with Dutch heritage, she began drawing in graphite pencil as a child, inspired by images she found in magazines. Her creative path moved into interior design before she discovered a distant relative in the Netherlands who is a sculptor, reinforcing her desire to become an artist. Recognising similarities in their creative approach, she found her way into figurative fine-art photography.
Within a year of graduating with a Diploma of Photography, she received international recognition, winning Gold and Silver before being selected as the overall winner of the International Discovery of the Year Award at the Exposure One Awards for her first international photography submission. Since then, her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including in Melbourne, Tokyo, Athens and Budapest.
