Ekaterina Cherkasova

An artist based in Paris, I began painting as a very young girl. My first paintings were small ink paintings with imaginary creatures. Those mystical creatures were very symbolic as they could reveal my emotions and personal fears. My manner of painting was highly criticized by my art teacher. It prevented me from continuing painting in my personal style for long years. That’s why my early paintings were principally in a classic style.
I have a series of landscapes entitled «The roads ». It’s a very symbolic title as I was still looking for my way.. looking for my art style.
The parachute jump became for me a sort of therapy that freed me from my fears.
I created my first large painting « Emotional Roads » in 2017. It talks about my mental transition and emotional healing through art.
Each of my painting is a story that I want to tell you. A story about an unconditional love, a robot invasion, an animal world protection or reincarnation. It is very important for me to tell my own story, but also to know what you are feeling when you look at my art.
