Kokou Ekouagou

Kokou Ekouagou (Born 1979 in Lomé-Togo) graduated from the University of Lomé and studied Cultural Management at Goethe-Institut. He develops strategies based on multicultural principles, identity and affect through which he suggests critical approaches to dominant historical narratives and attempts to decentralise them. His current research projects are propelled by a desire to reflect on the classifications and constructs of everyday reality. His work is trans-medial encompassing painting, sculpture, photography, video, performance and installation.
Ekouagou has exhibited at Torrance art Museum, Los Angeles; Ben Uri Museum, London; ZKM, Karlsruhe; Sobering Galerie, Paris; Marrakech Biennale; Guangzhou Live, China; HANGAR, Lisbon among others.
In 2022, Kokou Ekouagou is GOLD AWARD, LEONARD INTERNATIONAL GROUP, Quito, Ecuador, Best Artist for the 1st Virtual Art Fair - KUNST MELA 2022, ArtBook the Platform, Germany, win Kalaratnam AWARD ( For Mix Media ) in International Kalaratnam award India.
