Elena Raceala

Elena Raceala is a contemporary visual artist and photographer based in Constanța, Romania.

"My art is an exploration of stillness in a noisy world. I consider myself an observer of human and urban fragments that, at first glance, appear banal, yet conceal a poetic depth.
Through my minimalist aesthetic, I aim to eliminate unnecessary details to leave space for pure emotion. I use the interplay of light and shadow to sculpt forms and transform documentary reality into a timeless visual narrative. Each photograph is an invitation for the viewer to slow down, observe the hidden geometry of modern space, and find a balance between human presence and the solitude of the landscape.
My goal is not just to document a place, but to capture its emotional essence, transforming the everyday into a meditative visual experience."
Elena Raceala is now a prominent figure in the global photography community. She serves as a Head Curator for an international platform and frequently collaborates with the cultural publication LiterNet, where she publishes visual essays and thematic series (e.g., "Rhythm redefined - 2025", "Parallel Bucharest", "Museum as a Stage").

She started as a self-taught artist, later improving her skills through online courses and specialized workshops—and in 2019, she graduated from the School of Photographic Art at the "Teodor Th. Burada" Cultural Center in Constanța.
