Elena Sapov

Elena Sapov is a multidisciplinary artist based in New York. Her practice explores psychology, identity and human communication through painting, conceptual photography and self-portraiture.

She is interested in the inner processes that shape how people perceive themselves and relate to others. Encounters, reactions, silence and contradiction become the starting points for works that translate psychological states into visual form.

Her imagery combines restraint with emotional tension. Through the body, gesture, composition and symbolic details, Elena examines experiences that are often difficult to express directly: vulnerability, control, fragmentation, intimacy and internal conflict.

Her current practice includes oil painting, psychological figurative series, conceptual photography and art-driven modeling, in which the body functions as both a narrative and symbolic structure.

With a background in fine arts and theatre, Elena approaches each medium as part of a broader investigation into perception, relationships and the construction of identity.
