MY LIFE, THE ONE PAINTED BY ELISABETTA BROGI

The meaning of Art

I was raised in Florence where I studied History and Art at the university, and where I became a painter. I approached art physically as an ancient-paintings restorer. That has been my job for many years. Thanks to it I learned a lot about colors, technique and beauty and started to feel the need to paint too. So I did it! I never stopped since then looking for the meaning of Art and my way to be an artist.
I showed and sold my paintings for all the time I had my art-workshop in Florence.

My favorite medium is oil but I enjoy also playing with the different effects of watercolor.
I very much like painting and sketching from life landscapes and still life.

Recently I have been living between Florence and the Puget Sound, Washington. I liked to paint Seattle cityscapes and other cities spots and landscapes in the West of the Unites States, where I became very familiar with the different kind of deserts and the boundless expanses of lands. Which are spectacular and so different then what I have experienced in Italy and Europe.
