Junwon Lee’s paintings show the process of considering our limited nature of existence by reconstructing the schematic human body on a flat surface. -KMCA Museum of modern art Fragments of life melted in reinterpreted human figures, and explosive energy between abstraction and conception -Art1 < Totem Monster Series > It gives birth to a monster named providence by mingling the perception of life's limitedness, fear and bravery, overcoming and adaptation. And the energy that monster possesses gets back to us to face again with the primitive energy. We have worshiped them for many years. I draw the monster and its scenery in that sense. I work on my pieces by looking at my monster and by getting on their backs to face larger providence and gaze, to resist, or sometimes to accommodate myself, and imagine myself finally being freed. I believe the engraved energy in my drawings exists for real.
