Julien Baillargeon is born in 1977. He resides in Paris. After acquiring a foundation in drawing and color from Penhingen, a preparatory school of art direction and interior architecture, he completed his artistic education at l'École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD) of Paris. Impassioned by painting, photography and cinema, he has cultivated a versatility through endless and renewed exploration. Julien’s approach is poetic, sensual and pictorial in order to invite viewers into a contemplative realm.

A Poetics of Presence: The Art of the Unforeseen At a time when contemporary culture is increasingly dominated by calculation, optimization, and commodification, Julien Baillargeon’s photographic approach stands as a quiet but radical counterpoint. His work does not seek to control, anticipate, or impose meaning; instead, it embraces the unpredictable, the ephemeral, and the unscripted. Rather than seeing the present as something to be mastered or extracted for profit, he approaches it as an adventure, an open field where meaning emerges not from intention but from encounter. He is inspired by the elements of nature and the human body and applies his vision to subjects with sinuous and evocative forms: bodies, mountains, dunes, clouds, flowers and waves provide him with the ideal motifs to mix the figurative and the abstract. , the real to the imaginary and to offer us new landscapes.
