Andrej Mratinković (born 1984 in Celje, Slovenia) is a visual artist whose practice spans drawing, painting, small sculpture, digital art, and graphic design. He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Maribor in 2011. From the beginning of his studies, Mratinković understood that the path of art required more than technical skill — it demanded a deep exploration of all the elements that give meaning and soul to a work of art. Through persistent experimentation and reflection, he developed a personal language rooted in material sensitivity and poetic symbolism. A crucial influence on his artistic journey was the discovery of the works of sculptor Mirsad Begić, whose personal mythology and innovative use of natural materials—especially coffee—opened new directions in Mratinković’s own creative process. His works often explore themes of imagination, primal origins, mystery, mysticism, and poetic transformation, merging archaic sensibilities with contemporary expression.
