Poison Painting

I'm a Ukrainian-born artist and interior designer based in Alicante, Spain. Raised in a post-Soviet society where emotions were kept under strict control, I discovered art as a space of complete freedom—a place to express the full spectrum of human feeling without restraint. This formative experience shapes my bold, expressive approach to colour and composition. My work is characterised by vibrant palettes and intentional chaos, translating raw emotion into visual form. Working primarily in acrylics, I also explore watercolour, Chinese ink, oil paints, ceramics, and sculpture. I resist confining myself to a single style, preferring to follow intuition and experiment with color across multiple media. My process is deeply sensory—inspired by my surroundings, memories, scents, and the liminal space of daydreaming. My work explores fundamental questions of identity and existence. Each piece reflects an ongoing personal investigation: who am I, why am I here, what is life? This philosophical inquiry, combined with my background in interior design, brings both emotional depth and compositional rigour to my practice. My art challenges conventional boundaries, asking not just what art is, but where it can take us—both as creators and as viewers.
