My Work is based on Senbazuru. Is a Japanese Legend which is believed that if one folded 1000 cranes, one's wish would come true. The legend is based on the story of Sadako Sasaki. She was a Japanese girl who wanted to be healed from a disease which she got from the radiation caused by Hiroshima bombing. After her friend's advice (Chizuko) and while she was in the hospital, Sadako decided to fold 1000 paper cranes, hoping that her wish to live would come true. Her desire would not only be healed, but also everyone would live in peace and there would be no more wars. She could not overcome her illness not fold all that cranes (she was only able to fold 644 cranes before she passed away), but Chizuko and her classmates then continued to fold cranes until 1000 cranes. Because of this, it became a symbol of world peace.

Traditionally, giving paper cranes is wishing health, well-being, happiness and prosperity.

Graduate in Library Science and Documentation and Degree in Documentation, Carlos III University in Madrid.
