Eric Holzman

I am after a kind of painting that can be enjoyed experientially in the body, the heart and the soul, like a song that is fresh but seems eternal, and familiar like it has always existed. I am painting a slow, sensual richness which was much more common before the modern era. Painting is my doorway to the infinite, a meditation on wholeness and a record of our quest for union. I have no desire to disturb what was, I want to add. I want to paint the beauty of creation. I am compelled to honor those artists who have inspired me. As I rest in a bed of tradition, I enter and embrace the present, with every stroke. I am painting a different dream. I dream a better world, sacred and beautiful. I think this dream is in all of our hearts.
