Emily Rubinstein

Emily is an artist living and working in Cornwall, Inspired by her surroundings.

Whether it's enjoying a coffee looking out to sea, watching the sunset with a glass of wine, walking through the woods with her dogs. Finding a moment that demands to be captured in a painting.

Emily’s career in Art started back in 2008 after studying Fine Art and Photography at A-level, her work was inspired by structural landscapes, such as the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. Building texture from whatever she could get her hands on. She then went on to study Fine Art at the University of Creative Arts in Farnham. Focusing on landscape in an abstract form. Emily was inspired to change her medium and moved into training and working as a special effects makeup artist in fashion and film, creating gruesome art on the human body.

A change of scene was needed which led Emily to study Criminology at the University of Winchester, working on examining criminal’s behaviours. The love of art never left Emily though and she was still visiting art galleries.
After a tragic loss which changed Emily’s course of life, a move to Cornwall happened in 2023. A place she fell in love with in 2009 on a school trip. Returning to art felt natural and right, it was the si...
