Australian artist Emma Tindale is a self taught painter, interested in depicting the human form through pose and movement. Her practice is inspired by the glamorous poses of high fashion photography, in which models contort their figures and elongate their form with ease and nonchalance, which she conveys through her paintings. Her works are an examination of the human body and natural movement that we all recognise and execute. She paints subjects that offer a notion of familiarity, allowing viewers to recognise common and simple features, expressions or gestures.
