Etleva Belishova

Etleva (Eva) Belishova is a contemporary artist living in US. She has been fine-tuning her oil painting skills for over two decades developing a sophisticated new method called contemporary pointillism. The paint is not placed by the brush. Instead, Eva taps the handle of a small round brush, letting its bristles flick micro-droplets of oil paint onto the sketched composition on linen. Each tap changes the size, direction, and density of the marks, creating a balance between intention and chance.
This demanding method requires a lot of patient. It takes around three months to finish a piece and build the image through subtle shifts of light within dotted colors across the surface.
