I am both a painter and a florist.
For me, flowers represent both inhalation and exhalation. While working with flowers—touching them, trimming them, hydrating them, and deciding which stems to keep and which to discard—my body draws in a deep breath of sensations. The temperature, scent, and texture of the petals, combined with the atmosphere of the day, a sense of anticipation, and the quiet warmth of everyday life, all enter me like a breath.
Just as an inhaled breath must naturally be released, painting these flowers feels inevitable to me. It is not merely an act of visual representation, but a tangible trace of breathing, where the senses of the entire body are absorbed into the canvas.
I am deeply drawn to the moments where flowers meet everyday objects. At the boundary where natural lines encounter artificial colors, and where softness touches firmness, new temperatures and textures emerge. When flowers and everyday objects come together, they renew one another’s way of existing.
