1958, Ethiopia
Greek/Italian born and raised in Ethiopia and later moved to Canada where he became a Canadian citizen. E.C. began photographing at age 12. After leaving Canada in 1986, he has lived for more than 20 years in Asia including Turkey, China, Japan and Hong Kong, having made Hong Kong his home.
I am exploring ways in which every day moments can be used to create art works that speak of the immediate and unpredictable experience of everyday life, but are informed by contemporary cultural and social considerations (time and space). By fractionalizing such photographic moments and by providing this way of creating the narrative, I am hoping to be contributing to the field of knowledge in contemporary photography.
