Ewelina Sosniak

I create contemporary paintings exploring memory, perception, and emotional tension through color, texture, and layered compositions.

My work moves between abstraction and figuration, combining structural forms with intuitive gestures and material depth. I am particularly interested in the way visual fragments—spaces, objects, faces, and remembered impressions—can be transformed into personal visual narratives.

Painting is my most natural language. Through it, I investigate the relationship between what is seen, remembered, and emotionally experienced.

The physicality of paint is central to my practice. Texture, layering, and color relationships allow me to build images that feel both constructed and instinctive—balancing order with spontaneity.

My works are designed to create atmosphere, visual presence, and subtle tension within contemporary spaces, while inviting a more personal and reflective reading.

A graduate of Graphics Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. A scholar at Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music in Japan. A laureate of numerous competitions and participant of country and foreign exhibitions. Distinguished, among other things, by the Scholarship of Culture and National Heritage Minister in 2010 and by the Scholarship of the City Council in Wrocław in 2008 – for achievements in art. Participant of Pienkow International Art Workshop, organized by Marek Maria Pienkowski’s Foundation, whose collection includes a few of her pictures. She is engaged not only in painting, but also in graphic designing and illustration.
