Eydís Einarsdóttir

Rooted in my Icelandic upbringing and lifelong relationship with photography, my work is an intuitive and emotional exploration of the natural world.

Drawn to the interplay of light, form, texture, colour, and atmosphere, I photograph what resonates with me in the moment. My images encompass both stillness and movement, from quiet natural landscapes to the fleeting and abstract qualities of the world around us. Rather than seeking to document a scene or achieve a preconceived result, I am interested in conveying the feeling of experiencing it.

My approach is informed by years of photographic practice and a deep understanding of light, but the possibilities of an image are not always intentional or immediately apparent. Often, unexpected qualities emerge through the process itself, revealing something beyond my initial perception.

Now based in Sechelt, British Columbia, I continue to explore the natural world with curiosity, openness, and an appreciation for the unexpected.

My images come from a place of emotion. They are not an attempt to capture the perfect image, but to capture the feeling I experience as I witness what I see.
