Fabiana Blanco

I was born in Salvador, which is in the state of Bahia. I moved to São Paulo at the age of five with my mother. I graduated in Advertising, and in parallel with the visual arts I also work as a journalist. When I was still little I drew a lot, and in 1997 I started my visual production through photography. In 2003, because I felt the need to express myself artistically in a faster and cheaper way, I started with painting.
The visual arts inserted me definitively into art, and it proved to be the conductor of the constant rupture of the feeling of inadequacy of belonging to a bestially resigned society.
The art was the exit door for the manifestation of my intimate and humanistic inquiry.

I don't have an academic background in the arts. I majored in advertising.

1998 – Participation in the municipal phase of the Mapa Cultural Paulista, in the State of São Paulo, with a series of photography.

2004 – Participation in the 4th Salon of Visual Arts in the city of Guarulhos, in the State of São Paulo, with the works “O Suicídio I, II and II”.

2005 – Participation in the municipal phase of the Mapa Cultural Paulista, in the State of São Paulo, in the Plastic Arts category with the canvases “O Suicídio I, II and II”.

2006 – Participation in the XIV Plastic Arts Salon in Mairiporã, city of the State of São Paulo, with the canvases “Momento Privativo I – Ósculo, Momento Privativo II – Fricção and Momento Privativo III – Desvario”.

2008 – Participation in the 8th Salon of Visual Arts in Guarulhos, in the State of São Paulo, with the works “Momento Privativo I – Ósculo, Momento Privativo II – Fricção and Momento Privativo III – Desvario”.

2018 – First solo exhibition held at CAOS Galeria de Arte, located in the city of Registro, in the interior of the State of São Paulo. The exhibition was assembled with 20 works; among canvases, photographs, stencil and flag work. The exhibition opened on March 2nd and was open for public visitation until March 31st.
