Fabien Strauss

I am a French multidisciplinary artist working across music, writing, and photography. My artistic journey began with music : I composed original scores for films such as Les Amours Secrètes, Kickback, and Paranormal Investigation, the latter presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018 before its worldwide release on Netflix.

Alongside these collaborations, I have released several solo works, including piano albums and the EP Méli Mélo (2024), which reflect my ongoing exploration of emotion and atmosphere.

Photography has been a passion since adolescence, a parallel practice that has grown naturally alongside my musical career. My years of working on film projects sharpened my sensitivity to visual storytelling and the power of a single frame to hold both silence and resonance.

My fine art photography practice focuses on black and white imagery, where I seek to distill scenes into essential contrasts - light and shadow, fragility and strength. Architecture, landscapes, and fleeting human presences are recurring subjects, often approached with a contemplative and poetic sensibility.

As a musician and composer, I developed a strong academic foundation in classical and contemporary music, later applying this sensibility to film scoring. My work has been featured in films such as Les Amours Secrètes and Paranormal Investigation (Cannes 2018, Netflix), where collaboration with directors and visual artists deepened my understanding of rhythm, atmosphere, and storytelling.

Photography has been a parallel practice since adolescence. Though self-taught, I have refined my vision through years of immersion in cinema and painting, disciplines that continue to inspire my approach to light, composition, and narrative. This cross-disciplinary education shapes my fine art photography, where music and images resonate together in a coherent artistic language.
