Fleur Van Den Berg

Fleur van den Berg (b. 1972, Leiden, The Netherlands) is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, drawing, and public art. With a background in textiles and glass, her work moves freely between different materials. Currently, her practice focuses on ceramics, glass, and a unique process involving PET, textiles, composite, and wax.

Van den Berg is best known for her semi figurative works in which themes such as human relationships, motherhood, and womanhood take center stage. She explores tensions between strength and vulnerability, connectedness and powerlessness. In both intimate drawings and large scale sculptures, she has developed a visual language in which human bodies, branches, wings, and blood recur as symbolic motifs. These elements articulate the tension between fragility, resilience, and collective experience.

Her work is characterized by a strong engagement with the psychological and emotional dimensions of human existence. In her drawings, female bodies often appear with wings that transition into branches, evoking associations with metamorphosis and rootedness.
