Phillip Johnson

Mostly known as simply "Flip", I am a Virginia based, self taught visual artist. I primarily work with ink and watercolor, though I often tend to dabble in a variety of mixed media. My subject matter and use of vibrant colors is meant to offer a visual between contrast light and dark in an emotional sense. Most of my pieces offer insight to my own personal struggles that I usually conquer with defiant optimism. My style has often been referred to as "pop-surrealism".

have exhibited at Charles H Taylor in Hampton, Utopia Feni in Virginia Beach as well as various local businesses and institutions. I have held two solo exhibitions and have coordinated and curated three group exhibitions. I participate, annually, as an exhibitor at the Hampton Roads Tattoo Festival.
