Florence Bergaut

Florence Bergaut is a multidisciplinary artist born in 1979. She lives and works in Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse, France. After a professional background in advertising, she trained at ESAM Design and the Institut des Métiers d’Excellence LVMH x Les Compagnons du Devoir in leather craftsmanship. She has been further developing her artistic practice over the past two years at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris (NABA program).

Her work explores the notion of the mask in its social, intimate, and symbolic dimensions. Through fragmented figures, layered materials, and compositions that oscillate between figuration and abstraction, she investigates what is hidden, what is revealed, and what we are compelled to become.

Color plays a central role in her practice. Used intuitively and expressively, it supports an exploration of inner states and shifting identities. Her paintings often reveal a tension between appearance and interiority, between presence and transformation.
