In a world struggling with environmental uncertainties, my work is intended to serve as a catalyst to deepen our connection with nature, promote sustainable lifestyles, and encourage collective commitment to the preservation, especially, of our coastal ecosystems. I aim to invite the viewer through my work to embark on a transformative journey with me towards a more harmonious and sustainable future.

HfbK, Hamburg

Florian Reckert was born in 1964 in List on Sylt, the northernmost part of Germany, beneath thatched roofs. The likely last native List resident lives and works as a freelance graphic designer, transformation artist, photographer, sound tinkerer, ornithologist, and author in Hamburg. He has participated in numerous exhibitions and projects, including those within the context of documenta Kassel, Ars Electronica Linz, Triennale der Photographie Hamburg, and the Museum für Kommunikation Berlin. Most recently, he showcased his work in August 2023 at the Gallery of the Künstlerhaus FRISE in Hamburg in the exhibition "Between Proximity and Distance," his most personal project to date, in which he engaged with his father's artistic legacy.

Starting in 2024, Reckert plans the exhibition series "Flora Fauna Habitat," which will be presented and curated by the Institute for Artistic Research and Transformation (I*ART), and will take place at various locations including Westwerk Hamburg and the Kunstverein Niebüll. The exhibition series will explore in diverse ways (film, photography, soundscapes, sculpture/installation, and performance) the adaptability of nature, which continually transforms itself.
