Beata Bienkowska

A physicist by education and a self-taught photographer, Beata Bieńkowska has been devoted to photography for nearly twenty years. Her work merges classical professional practice with personal artistic exploration. While professionally focused on portrait and reportage photography, she has developed her own painterly visual language.

Using a distinctive technique of optical deformation—applied without post-production—she creates images that transcend realistic representation, blending natural observation with expressive, painting-like form. Searching for a way to capture emotions rather than surface details such as makeup, jewelry, or clothing, she began the ongoing series Look Outside, Get Inside. The project explores the inner human world, inviting viewers to interpret and emotionally engage with each image in their own way.

Her recent artistic milestones include the 2025 Warsaw premiere of her solo project Reborn, and her 2026 debut as a curator for Juliusz Dzienkiewicz’s exhibition titled Afterimage (Powidoki).
