Internationally-acclaimed Artist Francesca Gnagnarella was born in Italy in 1984, and has been exhibiting in Paris and Rome since 2006. She moved to Perth, Western Australia in 2007, where she now works and lives with her Australian husband and Blue Heeler dog, Donny. In 2004, under the tutelage of Sculptor Vito Pancella, she took a significant step in her career when she created her first bronze sculpture ‘Partagé’. She decided, however, that painting was the area that she most wanted to focus her artist endeavours upon. While studying art in Rome and Paris at Sorbonne University, she developed her own unique painting techniques. She also expanded her knowledge of the art world while working at the Picasso Atelier in Paris. Since moving to Australia, Francesca has been supported by a large following of art collectors including the Director of the Art Gallery of WA, Dr Stefano Carboni, who owns one of Francesca’s works as part of his private collection. In the last few years, Gnagnarella has exhibited regularly at solo exhibitions in Perth, and since 2010, she started exhibiting internationally in Singapore and Hong Kong where she returns regularly each year. Francesca’s works are recognized by art collectors for her use of 23 Karat Gold Leaf, which adds a hint of metallic contrast to the the bright colours featured in her bold abstract paintings, and perfectly complements the earthy, ethereal tones of her dreamy landscapes. Her artworks are ethereal, luminous and evoke a sense of lyrical fluidity, making her pieces unforgettable and captivating, like a vision from a dream.
2006 : University of Paris IV Sorbonne - Contemporary Art - France
2003-2005 : University of La Sapienza Roma History of Contemporary Art - Italy
2002: High school certificate in humanities studies Rome, Italy
Francesca is excited to have exhibited at Saatchi The Other Art Fair in Melbourne as part of Melbourne Art Week and looking forward to exhibiting again in Hong Kong for her upcoming show in September 2018. This will be her 9th time exhibiting in Hong Kong.
