Gaëlle Cueff

Gaëlle Cueff lives in Paris. She has been mainly working on encaustic art and photography for last 2 years, and her topics are especially based on poetic potential of trees and forest. In a previous period she developed a work rooted largely in the world of cabinets of curiosities and surrealism. Her collages and assemblages combine elements of the animal kingdom, pictorial interventions and photographs in singular images with a strong narrative tendency.
Her polysemic stories speak of hybridization, traces, memory.

Some of her works are in Chinese, American, Swiss, French and Belgian private collections.

A former student of the École Normale Supérieure (philosophy) and a graduate of Celsa (magisterium of communication), she fully develops her own practical art after twenty years mainly devoted to the promotion of cultural institutions, publishers of art and artists. She worked for several years for the Musée d'Orsay, Taschen publisher and many art editors, as well as for the Parcours des Mondes international fair, which was an opportunity for her to discover tribal art.

She presents her work in about 5 exhibitions per year, in Paris, Corsica, Belgium, China and Brittany.
In 2021, she had exhibitions in Auvers/Oise ("Racines"), Paris ("Empreintes" in Artcurial, "Cent_Titre(s)" at Atelier Rochebrune, "Talismarins" in L'Officine)and Argenteuil.
In 2020, she had exhibitions in Propriano (Corsica), Brussels (in Hotel Solvay, greatest Horta building),
